How come they don't let you preview the first pages of the lesbian sex manuals the way they do other books at Amazon? indeed, I want to know if it's the same old shite or whether there's something new involving a pedastool sink. Send me your favorite positions, and I will archive them here for free.
Have It Your Way
I finished Fast Food Nation last night. I had taken a breather from it, so unfortunately, most of my outrage had subsided by the last page. Fortunately, so did my surreal cravings for McDonald's while reading the book (are there subliminal messages in there or something? Jesus). Although we overlook our power as consumers to simply stop eating/buying garbage, the roots of why we eat the shit to begin with are complex. I work at home, which of course gives me a little more time to meal plan and eat whatever is at my healthy disposal. I have more sympathy for those pressed for time who, if they did not have enough time to pack a lunch, 1) drive down to the nearest fastfood outlet, 2) buy a Clark bar from the candy machine, or 3) simply do without. But why don't we have time in our lives, particularly when there have been so many time-efficiency improvements in the last 50 years? In the end, does culture drive fast food or does fast food drive culture? Why don't I get paid 100 grand a year to sit in an ivory tower and pontificate this under the guise of social anthropologist? I want to have it my way.
