Maggie's Overhaul

I will be taking Maggie to the vet in a few minutes. She's due for a multitude of things (heartworm pills, distemper and rabies shots, a refill on her Cosequin--glucosamine for dogs, more Kidney Diet dog food, and a fecal exam). Let's just call it her 200,000-mile maintenance. Last night she got a bath, and I dolled up as well (shaved my legs and put on some lipstick). Hopefully she won't break the bank today. Right now she's rolling around on the floor, ignorant of her fate. I will ask her if she wants to go bye-byes and she, picturing a leisurely nap on the floor of my car, will hop along. But then Wham! it's the cold table and the cold thermometer. Sorry, Mags.

Ah, 2 hours and $240 dollars later. Maybe she's the one who should be sorry. Am I the only one who feels giving out animal crackers to dogs at the vet is perverse? Maggie got one cookie that looked a lot like our cat Cicero, only with udders.
