I thought this was an interesting tidbit in a chapter I'm editing about Alzheimer's disease: 50% of the people afflicted with dementia live in Asia. Isn't that strange? The effects of Asian diets, which are low in fat and high in cardioprotective chemicals like omega-3 fatty acids, have been linked to lower rates of heart disease, but is something ELSE in these diets responsible for dementia?
