Never For Ever
K and I were wondering the other day, while listening to The Kick Inside in the car, what on earth happened to Kate Bush. Is it possible that she bowed out gracefully at the peak of her artistic prowess (The Red Shoes notwithstanding)?
Nope. Her new album will be out this year. I don't know what to think of it, really. Kate wasn't "in" in the late seventies when "Wuthering Heights" hit the British charts, and I doubt she'll fit in these days, either (although Stevie Nicks went from being laughingstock to revered stateswoman in the span of a decade, so wonders never cease). Oh England, my Lionheart, are we ready for the comeback of Kate?

Is she still "hot?" If so, she'll make a comeback. I wondering if she's producing on a computer these days.
Thanks for the link. I'm surprised they don't mention Tori Amos as one of Kates's followers.
You know, I have this weird thing about Kate Bush. Some of her stuff, I really like. But then I see her in a video or something, and she just annoys the HELL out of me. And some of her songs really annoy me. It's like some weird love/hate thing.
Meanwhile, I think I was scarred forever by a tale from college, that one of my friends walked in on his roommate masturbating, looking at a Kate Bush poster. Now, this could have been a purely made up story, so that probably shouldn't have scarred me for life. But it just did. ;)
I followed Tori until Boys for Pele; everything after that had a really monotonous, electronic feel to it, which really bored the shit out of me.
Ah, at least his roommate wasn't masturbating to a Jerry Garcia or Pixies poster (seemingly most common posters in college dorm rooms of the early nineties) or using any strange acuriments.
Haha, very true, very true!
